Comic & graphic novel translation — panels preserved.

In comics, the artwork is the language. Most tools extract the text and destroy the page; we translate the lettering and rebuild every panel so the story reads exactly as drawn — for $1.28 for a typical 64-page graphic novel.

$1.28
64-page graphic novel · Essential

Editorial: $2.56 — dialogue polished by a native review.

The craft

Comics translation is visual translation.

  • 01

    Reading order respected

Manga's right-to-left flow or Western left-to-right — the panel order survives the translation, so the story beats land the same way.

  • 02

    Dialogue fitted to balloons

Translated lettering is sized and placed to the balloon shapes — no overflowing bubbles, no art hidden under text boxes.

  • 03

    SFX treated as art

Sound effects are re-lettered in the target language's comic style, positioned to keep each panel's impact.

  • 04

    Print-ready pages

Trim-safe, print-ready PDF pages — ready for paperback upload or your printer.

Good to know

Comics questions, answered.

Short answers about graphic-novel translation.

What happens to the artwork?

Nothing — that's the point. Panels, gutters, and page compositions stay exactly as drawn. Only the lettering is translated and re-set into the balloons, so the artist's storytelling rhythm is untouched.

What happens to sound effects?

Onomatopoeia is translated or re-lettered to match the target language's comic conventions, placed to preserve the panel's impact — SFX is part of the art, and it's treated that way.

Will the speech balloons still fit?

Balloons are re-set with the translated text fitted to their shapes, with the reading order (right-to-left or left-to-right) preserved. Where a language runs longer, the lettering is adjusted rather than the art cropped.

How much does a graphic novel cost to translate?

A 64-page graphic novel is $1.28 on Essential or $2.56 on Editorial — per-page pricing suits comics, where every page is designed.
